Pack your bags. Let's take a ride. 5 minutes flat and we'll explore the wide with Forrest Kelly. It's travel time. It's The Best 5 Minute Travel Podcast. Let's go.

Kevin Duran:

I recently found their purpose with jkw and so our slogan now is travel with purpose. We're basically taking the patagonia approach, and 1% of our proceeds go towards charitable contributions. Right now we are help Isaiah fight cancer.

Isaiah is a cousin of mine who's currently dealing with that and he's 10 and has these big dreams and aspirations.

And quite some time before I was, while doing this business, I was like, you know, we have our mission statement, we have our value proposition, but something's missing. And so recently I've just applied that philanthropic approach to my business.

And so wanting to, you know, let the viewers know that when you travel with us, you're traveling with a purpose. Traveling can be selfish in a way. You know, how can I treat myself? And, you know, this is basically giving us yourself that validation as well.

You know, it's like I'm traveling with a purpose.

A percentage of our membership dues are going towards charitable contributions like helping Isaiah fight cancer or going towards the Chill Foundation. The Chill foundation is Burton Snowboards nonprofit where we teach underprivileged youth life lessons through snow sports.

I'm an alumni of that program now, being the head mentor here in Salt Lake City. And I am kind of looked towards as the role model to all these kids.

You know, my purpose in a sense, you know, and guess inspiration is for JKW to provide as much value to our members and renters and scale this business so we can also do some really good impact on the world as well.

Forrest Kelly:

Isaiah, we are pulling for you. How's he doing?

Kevin Duran:

Thanks, Forrest. He's doing well. He's doing well. It's a battle. I think it hit home for me. Just, you know, he's a fighter. You know, he's 10 and he's dealing with this.

And it just brings it back to how grateful we should all be just to have a healthy body.

be overplayed, you know, and:

And I've been pleased to announce that I recently got my major league rugby referee contract, so I'll be refereeing at the professional level.

This year and going back to Isaiah, it's like there's people like, you know, have these big dreams and aspirations, and they're somewhat limited by these struggles and difficulties that they go through their own lives.

So just taking the time to acknowledge the simple things of being able to walk, being able to breathe, being to be yourself, you know, without limitations.

Forrest Kelly:

So getting your card, get ready for the abuse. I'm sure you're used to it, but it's going to be escalated now. They're going to be constantly asking you about your vision.

Kevin Duran:

Yeah. Thank you for having me. Like, really appreciate it. Hopefully this brings some value to your listeners, your viewers.

You know, chime in and tune in to Forrest. He's a goat. So, yeah, I'd love to check in, you know, a few months down the road once share some progress.

Forrest Kelly:

We've touched down and landed. The episode's done with five quick minutes of travel and fun.
