Pack your bags, let's take a ride. 5 minutes fly and we'll explore the wide with forest. Kelly, it's travel time. It's The Best 5 Minute Travel Podcast, Let's go.
Forrest Kelly:You mentioned the cost and everything. 10% of the total cost. That is nothing, girl. That is so inexpensive because I mean, for a three day weekend here in the States, just to get away.
By the time I'm going through Travelocity Priceline, trying to match up all the points with the credit cards and doing all that headache work, I'm exhausted after a while and it's like, okay, reach out to you through an email and go, hey, take me from here to here. Here's the time I got. That'd be great. You handle everything.
Bee Davis:Here's how much money I could spend and then I go from there. Yep. Yeah, just do the dive deep.
So, you know, the whole process is somebody will send me an inquiry, I'll start to do like, you know, some more of like the base ton of research and give them a few different options, what they're looking for and then from there we'll kind of meet touch base, 15 minutes or so. Hey, what is it that you like about what we've got so far? What is it that you don't like?
And then we just kind of keep going from there until we have the exact itinerary that you're looking for. And like I said, it can be as hands off as you'd like or as hands on as you'd like. So if you only want me to book your flights, I could do that.
If you're looking for somebody who has booked everything from, you know, the minute to the minute, I can do that as well. So it just depends upon what you're looking for.
Forrest Kelly:Your favorite place to travel is Bermuda, the Triangle. Why?
Bee Davis:It's not as dangerous as you think. Honestly, I was shocked by how beautiful it was there. The, the beaches were absolutely just mind blowing. The water was amazing.
And it's just, it's a really cool place and a tiny little country, but they've got some amazing people there as well.
Forrest Kelly:Okay. So I don't want to throw shade on any traveling destinations or anything. I don't want to ruin anybody's tourism board.
But a place that is highly rated, but you would say, okay, timeouts, if you're inexperienced traveler, don't go there because you need to be experienced. Puerto Rico, okay.
Bee Davis:And the reason being is because it seems like it would be very easy to navigate. But once you start getting into like the cultural Part of it. There's a lot of things that you may not want to see. So it's a little bit.
It's definitely overrated. I didn't enjoy it there at all.
Forrest Kelly:Okay. Are any travel destinations getting pushback from Americans?
Bee Davis:Not really. I would say if you were to do it reverse, people who don't really enjoy Americans coming down would be Jamaicans. I would say.
Forrest Kelly:Yeah.
Bee Davis:Well, it's because a lot of times Americans are crazy and they, they don't really respect others cultures and they think I can go down there and just smoke weed everywhere. And that's not really the case. So. Yeah.
Forrest Kelly:Did you say smell or smoke?
Bee Davis:Smoke? Yeah, they think that that's what it is. It's just a place to go and smoke weed. And there's so much more to that country.
Forrest Kelly:Kind of a hidden gem that you could see up and coming destination that's really trying to step up their game.
Bee Davis:Grand Cayman, they actually had some bad juju there for a while and they weren't really getting a lot of people to come around. But they've made a lot of change politically and things are starting to get a lot better.
Forrest Kelly:Okay, so when you're going to these tropical places, what is the number one thing that you suggest they do? For me, it's always scuba diving. I've got my license. But is there a something that you must do when you're in traveling?
Bee Davis:Eat the food? That's, that's my number one thing. A lot of times people will be kind of afraid to eat it like a hole in wall type place.
But I have found that if they don't have a sign outside their, their place, that is the best food that you'll ever eat. So yeah, I would definitely suggest people, even if you're going all inclusive, to try to plan at least one meal where you're eating locally.
Forrest Kelly:What do you mean when you say they don't have a sign?
Bee Davis:You don't even know for sure it's a restaurant.
Forrest Kelly:Oh, really?
Bee Davis:You walk past it and you're like, wait a minute, is that, is that a place to eat? And then you walk in and you discover that, oh yeah, it is. There's a kitchen in the back. And those are the best, best places to eat at.
Forrest Kelly:For me and my luck, it'd be no, this is our dinner table, sir. This is our house. Please leave.
Bee Davis:It's like, well, I haven't had that happen yet.
Forrest Kelly:Bee told me to. You know, if you don't have a sign to look, okay, look on Google first. Yeah, but I understand, too, because I.
One of my rules that I try to stick to 99% of the time is never eat anywhere that I can eat at home. So fast food or whatever.
Bee Davis:Exactly.
Forrest Kelly:I don't want to eat a Cracker Cracker Barrel in Grand Cayman. No.
Bee Davis:Nope, we are not.
Forrest Kelly:Okay, so the name of the podcast.
Bee Davis:Is Beachside Banter with Bee
Forrest Kelly:Okay. Beachside Banter with Bee Yep. How many B's is that?
Bee Davis:A lot.
Forrest Kelly:There's three.
Bee Davis:Play on the bees.
Forrest Kelly:Yeah. Okay. Beachside Banter.
And then the name of the website is lifeloveandtravel.com the number one reason that people should visit your website when they're going to travel and they're trying to put together something is what will they find at your website?
Bee Davis:They're going to find a lot of details that they're not going to be able to find in other places, places that I visited and have researched thoroughly.
And they're going to learn a lot of different hidden gems, where to go, where to eat, and the questions to ask and places to visit and all that stuff.
